GrantCraft Launches Two New Resources

I'm excited to share not one, but two new GrantCraft publications with you today! Communication That Counts is a new guide co-produced with Tshikululu Social Investments that has a specific focus on South African funding. The guide's lens on social investment communications through corporations offers a useful perspective for rethinking what you're communicating, to whom, and how, regardless of where you live. 21st-Century Community Foundations is our new Leadership Series piece written by Emmett Carson, CEO and president of Silicon Valley Community Foundation, that explores changing definitions of "community" and what that might mean for community foundations in the years ahead.

Here's why I'm excited about these publications: they both make me think a little bit differently about philanthropy. Both lead to questions and conversations that spark new ideas, and both take me a little out of my day-to-day context to explore philanthropy from new angles. From wherever you sit in our increasingly vibrant and complex sector, I hope that these new GrantCraft resources help you think about aspects of your work from fresh perspectives. As we shared at the recent European Foundation Centre conference in Milan, "Borrowing is the new innovation," so borrow ideas about communication from South Africa and ideas from Emmett about how identity is tied to community and integrate them into how you approach your work.

As GrantCraft continues to forge ahead in developing and sharing resources for funders that build on collective wisdom and cultivate conversation, we aim to bring in ever more diverse voices and perspectives. If you are interested in partnering to support a guide or other resource grounded in an issue, strategy, or geography relevant to your work, let me know. And, if you have an "aha" moment sparked through these new resources, I'd love to hear that, too!
