A Website with the Premise that “Everything Should be Posted”

In 2003, the Meyer Memorial Trust in Portland, Oregon adopted a set of organizational values that included being “open, accessible, and transparent.” At the same time, the trust was undertaking a complete redesign of its website. Marie Deatherage, director, communications and learning, says, “My working assumption was that everything should be posted on the website unless there were clear and compelling reasons not to. And I’m quite sure, if you ask around the office, that I was a bit of a nuisance about it.”
